Profile

Ken Koprowski, Principal, is a communications consultant, writer and educator. For more than 35 years, he’s been advising leadership teams on reputation management, strategic, crisis, and marketing communications, as well as constituent relations.  Ken is a prolific writer, creative director and producer.

He currently teaches Master’s level communications subjects, including advanced writing, crisis communications, reputation management, communications research, critical business skills for communications, and interpersonal relations at NYU’s School of Professional Studies, Division of Programs in Business, UConn’s School of Business, and Manhattanville College’s Master’s in Business program. He also was Adjunct Assistant Professor with NYU’s Marketing & Management Institute for 12 years, where he taught advanced public relations writing. He was a teaching Fellow, earned his Master’s in Creative Writing and completed his doctoral coursework at Syracuse University.

His book, “Fathers, Collected Poems,” is available on Amazon and at major bookstores. His second collection is pending. He’s also completing a collection of true PR tales told by well-known professional figures, and a collection of short stories.

Background

Prior to re-establishing his consulting practice, Ken was a communications leader at GE Energy Financial Services from its inception in early 2004 through 2009, and prior to that headed communications for GE Structured Finance for six years, managing all aspects of internal and external communications.  He also served as a GE crisis manager for three years.

Before GE, he was a communication consultant and managing director with River Communications, a financial public relations firm, providing strategic advisory services to major corporate clients including American Express and Wells Fargo.  Prior to that, Ken led U.S. marketing communications for Price Waterhouse, U.S., was a lead communicator for Primerica Corporation/American Can Company (now Citigroup), and held communications management positions with Texaco, PepsiCo, International Paper, and United Parcel Service.

Ken is Treasurer and Past President of PRSA’s Westchester-Fairfield Chapter. He is certified in Six Sigma, Change Acceleration Management, Coaching, Manager Communications, Financial Management (Wharton/PR executive program), Facilitation and 10-hour Hazmat.  In addition to his graduate work, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in English literature from the University of Illinois, Chicago and volunteers with a number of community and professional organizations in Southwestern Connecticut.
